Chevron Stitch
Reversible - Multiple of 8 + 1

In worsted weight, this stitch does not have much drape, and is medium in density. It's very architectural and might look great on a vest or bag. The pattern is fairly easy for an advanced beginner, or intermediate knitter.
Cast on multiples of 8 + 1 (no less than 17)
Row 1 (rs): k1 (p7, k1) _x, to end
Row 2 (ws): p1, k7 (p1, k7) _x, p1
Row 3 (rs): k2 (p5, k3) _x, p5, k2
Row 4 (ws): p2, k5 (p3, k5) _x, p2
Row 5 (rs): k3 (p3, k5) _x, p3, k3
Row 6 (ws): p3, k3 (p5, k3) _x, p3
Row 7 (rs): k4 (p1, k7) _x, p1, k4
Row 8 (ws): p4, k1 (p7, k1) _x, p4
